Man Denies Killing Former Employer

A man accused of fatally shooting his former Camarillo employer pleaded not guilty to murder Thursday.

Mikhail Khaimchayev, who had spent several weeks hospitalized in critical condition recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen, was in a wheelchair as he announced his plea to Superior Court Judge Edward Brodie.

Khaimchayev, 29, of West Hollywood was arrested in the Jan. 13 shooting death of business owner Sheldon Snyder, 36. Khaimchayev was a computer programmer at Snyder’s company, Postal Innovations, but was let go several months before the shooting. According to Postal Innovations employees, Khaimchayev, a Russian immigrant, was fired because he spoke poor English.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 10.
