NEWPORT BEACH
The City Council this week unanimously approved a Community Development Block Grant application for fiscal 1999-2000. The city’s entitlement for the next fiscal year is $495,000. The city is seeking $43,909 for homeless services, $74,250 for low-income elderly and $99,000 for administrative costs. The $266,750 earmarked for Balboa Peninsula revitalization includes $200,000 for placing utility lines underground in West Newport.
