Dressing for Success

Share

At King/Drew Magnet High School, we are fortunate to be edging minority students toward careers in medicine and science in a new state-of-the-art facility. In an attempt to cultivate humanity in our future doctors and medical researchers, we integrate course study of the arts and are currently rehearsing a production of “The Imaginary Invalid” for performances June 11 and 12.

We have a beautiful theater in which to perform, but little else was accumulated from our 17 years in basic bungalows with no theatrical facility. Set, light and sound requirements for Moliere’s piece are minimal, not that we couldn’t use a little help, but it would be a glorious achievement for us to dress our actors in period costumes of 17th century France. Perhaps a generous costumer or shop can help us do the French Restoration comedy justice.
