The Galaxy opened with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Colorado Rapids at the Rose Bowl. The Mauricio Cienfuegos contract talks drag on, so L.A. fans again might vote at the gate today. Of course, those who come for the U.S.-Mexico women’s match at 2 p.m. might stay for the MLS nightcap, making the numbers look more respectable. Dallas will be without midfielder Chad Deering, midfielder-defender Mark Santel and goalkeeper Mark Dodd. All three have been sidelined by knee injuries. The Galaxy will be without Robin Fraser (knee and shoulder), Ezra Hendrickson (groin) and John Jones (broken leg).
