Floral Fumes

If Kenneth Turan is smelling air “perfumed from the flourishing hibiscus and bougainvillea” in Acapulco, I wonder what varieties they’re growing down there (“The French Persistence,” April 25). We’ve plenty of both up here in L.A., and neither has a scent.
