Mobile Home Search Turns Up Drug Lab

Los Angeles police searching for a parole violator discovered a drug lab in a mobile home.

Officers were serving a search warrant Friday afternoon at a mobile home park at 24425 Woolsey Canyon Road when they were “hit in the face with fumes, so they had to back out quickly,” said Lt. Timothy Moss of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley station.

A county hazardous materials team, the LAPD Narcotics Lab Team and the LAPD’s Scientific Investigation Division were called to dismantle the lab at the Summit Trailer Park near the Ventura County line. In the mobile home, Moss said, “a pot of meth was cooking.”

Parolee Kevin Darnell and three others were taken into custody.

One of them, a female juvenile who was said to live at the mobile home park, was later released to her parents.
