Cleveland Coach Siegel Dies

Share

Marty Siegel, an assistant baseball coach, scorekeeper and booster at Cleveland High for more than 25 years, died Saturday morning at his home in Northridge. He was 79.

Coaches came and left Cleveland, but Siegel was a fixture since arriving in 1972. He was an enthusiastic, dedicated volunteer who supported players and coaches.

Former Cleveland pitcher Bret Saberhagen, a 1982 graduate, was among the players Siegel aided during his stay at the Reseda campus.
