Brea Olinda 3, Savanna 2--Nick Stagnaro hit a two-run homer in the third to tie score and scored the winning run in the fifth for Brea (11-10, 6-6).

Western 15, Anaheim 2--Alex Taylor hit two home runs, including a grand slam in the sixth, to lead Western.

In the Empire League:

No. 4 El Dorado 9, Loara 3--Mitch Nord had five RBIs and a two-run home run to lead El Dorado (18-5, 11-1).

Century 10, Kennedy 5--Abel Ventura went three for four with an RBI and run scored for visiting Century (11-11, 3-9).

Katella 9, Cypress 5--John Loenz had a two-run single in the sixth that put Katella (17-6, 9-3) ahead for good. Senior Mike Martinez went one for two with a home run in the fifth and three RBIs. Martinez also picked up his 10th victory of the season. Senior Carlos Pacillas went three for four, with two doubles and two RBIs for the host Knights.

In the Freeway League:

Sunny Hills 10, Sonora 9--Mitchell Martindale hit a two-run homer in the second inning and Jarred Bruce hit a two-run shot in the third to lead host Sunny Hills (17-6, 10-2).

Troy 6, Fullerton 5 (8)--Ben Reneau capped a three-for-five performance with the winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth for Troy (9-14, 3-9). Reneau also hit a two-run homer in the fourth.

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 6, Rancho Alamitos 3 (8)--Victor Perales struck out six in seven innings for Bolsa Grande (8-14, 3-7). Perales went three for four with a home run in the fifth inning and two RBIs.

Garden Grove 5, Santiago 0--Eric Davis gave up only four hits, and went one for three with a home run in the sixth for Garden Grove (10-11, 6-3). Joe Rovirosa hit a two-run home run in the first for the visiting Argonauts.

Pacifica 8, Los Amigos 5--Pacifica (10-11, 5-4) took advantage of two errors to score three unearned runs in the sixth inning. Robert Shaw was three for five with two RBIs for the Mariners.

In the Sea View League:

Corona Del Mar 9, Woodbridge 2--Ty Harper hit a home run and drove in four runs for host Corona Del Mar (14-6, 9-3). Matt Larson (4-5) went the distance and did not walk a batter for the Sea Kings.

El Toro 14, Newport Harbor 3 (5, mercy)--Bob Pearce hit a grand slam and Josue Lopez also hit a home run and drove in four runs for El Toro (14-9, 6-6).

Irvine 13, Santa Margarita 12--Irvine sophomore Chad Hazlett came on after Santa Margarita had scored nine runs in the first inning. Hazlett then gave up only two runs the rest of the game. Every player in the Irvine lineup scored.

In the South Coast League:

No. 2 Mater Dei 9, Dana Hills 0--Nick Lovato (9-0) remained unbeaten, striking out six, for host Mater Dei (16-4, 11-1). Josh Hansen went two for four with two RBIs, and Aaron Escobedo hit two doubles and scored twice.

No. 5 Trabuco Hills 6, Capistrano Valley 1--Eric Bowden (8-1) went the distance, striking out 13 for visiting Trabuco Hills (17-4, 11-1). Bowden also hit a home run and Brian Byrne went three for four.

San Clemente 6, Mission Viejo 3--Jeff Goodman (6-3) went the distance, striking out seven for San Clemente (14-9, 7-5).

In the Sunset League:

Edison 3, No. 7 Fountain Valley 0--Dale Thayer struck out nine to lead Edison (15-8, 7-5). Bryce Popoff went two for three with a triple and an RBI.

No. 9 Los Alamitos 8, Huntington Beach 7--John Hartford hit a sacrifice fly with one out and the bases loaded in the seventh to bring home Vlasi Ritacco with the winning run for Los Alamitos (14-9, 8-4). David Reyna (1-0) pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and struck out four, to get the win.
