* Universal Studios has named Bruce Wilson chief information officer. He will be responsible for the strategy, development, implementation and support of Universal Studios’ information technology systems, the company said.

Wilson comes to the Universal City-based entertainment company from ConAgra Grocery Products Co., a $2.5-billion subsidiary of ConAgra Inc., of Omaha, where he was vice president and chief information officer.

Before that he was vice president and chief information officer of Glendale-based Nestle USA.

* Warner Bros. announced the promotion of Pamela Kirsh to vice president, general counsel, and Sandra Smokler to vice president, deputy general counsel, in its Theatrical Legal Department.

Both will be responsible for supervising the legal work pertaining to acquisition, development and production of feature films at Warner Bros.

Kirsh has been with the Burbank-based entertainment company for 16 years, beginning as a paralegal in the Theatrical Legal Department.

Smokler came to Warner Bros. from 20th Century Fox Film Corp., where she was vice president, Theatrical Legal Affairs, from 1990-94.

* Iwerks Entertainment Inc., a Burbank-based high-tech entertainment company, has named Marti Boone vice president of its large-format theater sales and development operation, the company said.

Boone will be responsible for working with museums, science centers, aquariums, movie theaters and other unique venues to expand and reach new markets for the company’s giant-screen theater products and services.

She most recently served as general manager and group marketing director for the World Golf Hall of Fame and World Golf Theater and as director of marketing communications for the Theaters and Attractions-Affiliate Relations divisions of IMAX Corp., Toronto.

Iwerks Entertainment Inc., founded in 1986, provides high-tech entertainment systems, support services and film-based software in large-format, ride-simulation and specialty-venue attractions.

* THQ, an entertainment software company in Calabasas, has hired Adrianne Lauer as national PC sales manager, the company said.

Lauer comes from Interplay Entertainment Corp., Irvine, where she was sales manager for its western region.

THQ develops, publishes and distributes interactive entertainment software for a variety of platforms, including PC and CD-ROM.

* Intellicell Corp., Chatsworth, said executive vice president and board member Stephen Jarrett has submitted his resignation in order to pursue other interests.

He will continue to serve the Chatsworth-based company as a consultant.

Intellicell Corp. is a publicly traded company founded in 1991. The company distributes products and services for the wireless communications industry.

* Woodland Hills-based Peter C. Foy & Associates, a business management consulting firm, announced the appointment of Gregory M. Doherty as senior vice president, property and casualty division. Doherty had served as senior vice president at J & H Marsh & McLennan, Los Angeles. The company provides insurance and risk management, benefits counseling, human resources and administration services to businesses nationwide.
