Ranch Worker, 55, Dies After Bee Sting
A ranch worker with a severe bee allergy died Tuesday morning after being stung, authorities said.
Juan Navarro, 55, of Fillmore was loading oranges onto a truck for McCreery Ranch in an area about 100 feet from several beehives about 10 a.m. when he was stung, authorities said.
Before collapsing under a nearby tree, Navarro was able to tell co-workers what happened and inject himself with the hormone epinephrine, or adrenaline, that he kept in his truck.
Co-workers called 911 and Navarro was airlifted to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:02 a.m.
