Officer Charged With Having Sex With Minor
A nine-year veteran of the Compton Police Department will face a termination hearing now that he has been charged with having unlawful consensual sex with a 14-year-old girl, officials said Tuesday.
The patrol officer, Ed’ourd Peters, 37, has been accused of twice having sex with a runaway in a local motel March 31. The patrol officer pleaded innocent to the charge in court and was ordered held on $125,000 bail.
Peters was placed on unpaid leave after his arrest, and the department said Tuesday that there was reason enough to fire him for conduct unbecoming an officer.
