Taft 13, Birmingham 0--Justin Wade (4-8) threw a two-hitter, struck out five and recorded his first shutout in a West Valley League game at Birmingham.

Danny Chavez went three for four for Taft (7-17, 3-12), which scored seven runs in the fifth.

Reseda 6, Van Nuys 5--Theo Cuevas singled in the winning run in the seventh in a Mid-Valley League game at Reseda (14-10, 8-6).

Reseda’s Leo Rosales had three hits, including two home runs.

Granada Hills 7, Kennedy 3--Kameron Loe (10-1) allowed nine hits, struck four and walked two to help the Highlanders (19-5, 12-3) clinch the North Valley League title at Granada Hills.

It was Loe’s 11th complete game. Dan Frisbee had two hits and drove in a run for Granada Hills.

Cleveland 5, San Fernando 2--Nick Arroyo had two hits and two RBIs and Javier Gomez had two hits for host Cleveland in a North Valley League game.

Cleveland (10-14, 6-9) broke a 2-2 tie on Jason Zuniga’s run-scoring single with two out in the fifth. The Cavaliers added two runs in the sixth.

Poly 13, North Hollywood 2--Johnny Manuel had three hits, including a three-run home run and a run-scoring double, for Poly (21-6, 14-1) in an East Valley League game at North Hollywood (7-21, 4-10).

Manny Flores (6-0) allowed three hits in six innings with seven strikeouts and three walks, and Abraham Gonzalez held North Hollywood scoreless in the seventh.

Jake Rand had a run-scoring double for North Hollywood.

Sylmar 9, Grant 4--Ivan Hernandez sparked Sylmar’s six-run seventh with a three-run double in an East Valley League game at Grant (17-7, 11-4).

Grant starter Michael Marble took a no-hitter and a 4-0 lead into the sixth, when Hernandez hit a three-run home run. Sylmar (17-7, 11-4) finished with two hits.

Jon Spielvogel had three hits for Grant.

Canyon 18, Burbank 0--Garrett Behnke hit three home runs in a Foothill League game called in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.

Behnke had a two-run homer and a three-run blast in the third inning, when Canyon (12-11, 10-4) scored 15 runs. He led off the three-run fourth with a homer.

Ted Atler had three hits and five RBIs, including two doubles.

Chris Sedden (5-2) pitched a one-hitter, yielding a fourth-inning single to Ronny Mendez.

Hart 11, Valencia 0--Jamie Shields (7-0) pitched a five-inning two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks in Foothill League game at Hart (21-4, 13-1) called in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.

Matt Friedrichsen had a three-run home run and Shields contributed a home run and a run-scoring single.

Burroughs 7, Saugus 6--Freshman Tim Murphy singled in the winning run in the seventh inning in a Foothill League game at Burroughs.

Jon McKenzie, Spencer Steward and John Ueland each had two hits for Burroughs (12-13, 7-7).

Crespi 7, Alemany 2--Brian Horwitz homered, doubled and finished with three hits for Crespi (21-5, 10-1) in a Mission League game at Alemany (13-12, 5-6).

St. Francis 5, Chaminade 2--J.R. Cortez hit two home runs and Jason Hirsch threw his first complete game for St. Francis (9-13, 5-6) in a Mission League game at Chaminade (16-8, 5-6).

Calabasas 5, Malibu 2--Brian Millman’s three-run home run in the fourth inning made the score 5-0 and the host Coyotes (11-12, 8-3) clinched the Frontier League title.

Tony Sulser (7-2) pitched his sixth complete game, striking out 11 and walking four.

Westlake 5, Camarillo 4--Kevin Howard and Tyler Adamczyk hit consecutive home runs for Westlake (17-5-1) in a four-run third inning in a nonleague game at Camarillo.

Howard’s three-run blast was his 11th, Adamczyk’s was his seventh.

Adamczyk (4-0) struck out six in four innings. Brandon Del Vecchio struck out three in 2 1/3 innings to record his second save.

Shane Miranda had a home run in the third and Spencer Wyman had two doubles for Camarillo (19-6).

Rio Mesa 10, Hueneme 5--Ernie Borjas had three hits, including a three-run home run, and Greg Ramirez also had three hits for the host Rio Mesa (19-9, 6-6) in a Pacific View League game.

Paraclete 12, Kilpatrick 2--Tommy Breech went three for three and Rob Fockaert had two hits and three RBIs for the Spirits (15-7, 5-1) in an Alpha League game called in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.

Nordhoff 7, Santa Clara 5--Jake Barrett was three for three with three RBIs and Brian Bronk pitched a complete game in a Frontier League game to help Nordhoff (10-9, 7-4) clinch a playoff berth for the second time in school history.

Brentwood 11, Campbell Hall 0--A nine-run third inning carried host Brentwood in a showdown for first place in the Delphic League.

The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

Brentwood (16-8, 7-0) moved two games ahead of Campbell Hall (19-3, 5-2).
