IRVINE
UC Irvine will inaugurate Ralph J. Cicerone as its fourth chancellor today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Aldrich Park, at the center of campus. The inauguration will begin with a three-section academic procession and a keynote address by Donald Kennedy, president emeritus of Stanford University. A reception will follow at the School of Physical Sciences plaza. Entertainment will be provided by UC Irvine’s Ballet Folklorico. Cicerone, an internationally acclaimed atmospheric scientist, was chosen to lead the university in April 1998 and assumed the position July 1, 1998.
