DODGERS REPORT

Share

Dorik Perman, who is suing the Dodgers for $5 million for violating his federal civil rights, was doing research for a book on the disabled when he bought season tickets for three handicapped fans.

Perman, a quadriplegic, alleges in the suit that the Dodgers were in violation of the rights of the disabled when they required him to buy seats for a guide dog and a canine companion he said would be accompanying the fans.

In reality, Perman told The Times, he didn’t know who would use the tickets at the time he purchased them. He said he had planned on choosing fans to use the tickets after he had received them.

According to Perman, it was incorrectly reported that Perman subsequently asked the Dodgers to reimburse him for the dogs’ tickets.

Perman said he wanted to meet with the Dodgers to resolve the issue.

He did ultimately meet with team representatives, but wasn’t satisfied with their response to his settlement offer.

Dodger officials have declined comment.
