The Laguna Beach Unified School District has chosen PJHM Architects to design more than $12 million worth of improvements to the district’s four campuses. In addition to repairs and refurbishment at all of the campuses, which have deteriorated in recent years, the district will be spending millions on new construction at El Morro Elementary School, which is expected to take in new students from the Newport Coast development. The Irvine Co. gave the district more than $6 million to offset the costs involved in taking in the new students. Other money will come from the state’s schools modernization program.
