Labor Minister Quits Over Pension Flap

Argentine Labor Minister Antonio Gonzalez resigned over a scandal caused by his huge pension payments. He was the second Cabinet member to quit in a month. His resignation came after local media reported that he was earning an $8,000 monthly pension on top of his monthly ministerial income of about $9,000. Education Minister Susana Decibe quit May 7 in protest of government plans to cut her budget by $280 million.
