The Spy Who . . .

I was absolutely dumbfounded that Thomas Shudic would defend the title of “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me” on the grounds that “shag” has additional non-obscene meanings (Letters, May 16). Somehow, I don’t think what the movie’s producers are trying to communicate is “The Spy Who Rugged Me” or “The Spy Who Caught Me in the Outfield Like a Fungo.” In fact, they would be downright disappointed if their sleazy gimmick failed to shock.
