Summer Beach Bus Service Starting Up Next Month
Kids and adults seeking relief from the summertime blues will have the choice of three bus services to and from local beaches beginning next month.
One bus will pick up passengers at three locations along Topanga Canyon Boulevard from June 21 to Sept. 6 and take them to Santa Monica Beach. Bus fare has not yet been determined. For a schedule, call the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works at (626) 458-3965, Monday through Thursday.
The city of Calabasas will offer bus service to Zuma Beach weekdays from June 21 to Aug. 27. Pickup locations are Calabasas High School, Calabasas Tennis Center, Round Meadow Elementary School, Calabasas City Hall and Juan Bautista de Anza Park. Cost is $1 round-trip.

Beach bus service is also available through the city of Agoura Hills from June 19 to Aug. 28. Passengers can board the bus at Lindero Canyon Middle School, Agoura High School or the corner of Liberty Canyon and Agoura roads, Monday through Saturday. Weekday buses go to Zuma and Leo Carrillo beaches; Saturday buses go to Zuma Beach only. Cost is 50 cents each way.
