IRVINE

Christopher Nance and Vicki Vargas from KNBC-TV Channel 4 will help kick off the 13th annual AIDS Walk Orange County from UC Irvine next month. The June 6 fund-raiser already has 250 walking teams, 75 corporate sponsors and hundreds of volunteers set to participate. The event, which has raised nearly $4 million since 1987, is expected to raise $650,000 this year for county agencies that provide AIDS support and education.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Mesa Field on the UCI campus. Opening ceremonies start at 8:45 a.m. Walkers, who can participate in either 5K or 10K routes, will leave their marks at 9:30 a.m. Information: (949) 955-1400.
