Botswana Wins Miss Universe

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad —
A Botswanan woman on Wednesday secured the title of Miss Universe, winning the crown for her country in its first entry in the beauty pageant.
Mpule Kwelagobe, 19, reacted with shock, surprise, then joy at the crowning in this Caribbean country.
In second place was Miss Philippines, Miriam Quiambao, a 23-year-old physical therapist. Miss Spain, 24-year-old Diana Nogueria, took third place.
