Toshiba Names Two Senior Directors
Robert Kreps has been named senior director, national sales, for Toshiba America Medical Systems in Tustin. Kreps, who joined Toshiba in 1997, had been senior director of the Healthcare Business Development group. Steve Sickels has been named senior director of the ultrasound business unit. Sickels was previously director of the MRI business unit and director, manager and product manager of nuclear medicine for the company.

Rex K. Smith has been appointed vice chairman of Corporate Capital Group, a real estate investment and development company in Costa Mesa. Before joining the company, he was vice president of capital finance for Birtcher Real Estate Group in Laguna Niguel. Smith has also been director of the U.S. investment division for the Los Angeles office of Knight, Frank International.

Stuart Rattray has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president for Australia-New Zealand Direct Line in Santa Ana. He had been senior vice president, North America.

Hiroyuki Ochi has been appointed director of international sales for Veronex Technologies Inc. in Irvine. Ochi has more than 30 years’ experience in software engineering and in international business.
* Lloyd H. Malchow has been named president and chief executive of SenoRx Inc., an Irvine private development-stage medical-device company. Previously, Malchow was president and chief executive of Penederm Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company.

Abbas Mohaddes has been appointed vice president of transportation systems for Odetics ITS in Anaheim, a subsidiary of Odetics Inc. Mohaddes joined the company last year after it acquired Meyer, Mohaddes Associates Inc., a traffic engineering and intelligent transportation systems consulting firm.

David Buskirk has been appointed president of Associated Travel, a subsidiary of Navigant International Inc., a provider of corporate travel management services. Buskirk will be responsible for operations in California and Texas and will be based in Santa Ana. Buskirk succeeds Thomas Nulty, who was named president and chief operating officer of Navigant, based in Englewood, Colo. Buskirk joined Associated in 1987 as vice president of the San Diego region.

Jedd Zaun has joined the Newport Beach office of Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services as a senior vice president. He was also elected to the board of directors. Zaun was formerly with the Newport Beach office of Grubb & Ellis Co.

Ray Beshoff has been appointed Southern California district vice president for Republic Industries Inc. He will oversee 39 auto dealerships and continue as general manager of the House of Imports Mercedes-Benz dealership in Buena Park.

Josey Panasiti has joined the Southern California office of Comerica Business Credit as vice president and will be based in Costa Mesa. She was formerly vice president of business development at Sumitomo Bank of California.

Alex Roqueta has been named senior vice president of National Survey Systems in Irvine. He was formerly an executive for Pacific Enterprise, the parent company of Southern California Gas Co. Fernanda Martinez has been named director of survey operations for the company. She has designed and administered its survey process for home-builder clients since 1990.

Don Mauldin has been named vice president of operations for ZLand Inc.’s North American operations group in Santa Ana. Before joining ZLand, a provider of Internet business applications, Mauldin was vice president of operations for Wonderware. He also held positions with Seiko Instruments, Toshiba America and Krug International.

Sean Foley has been appointed senior vice president of Bank of America in Newport Beach. He is responsible for sales and relationship management for the bank’s small-business customers in Orange County and the South Bay.

Gregg Pearson has been named general manager of the Jolly Roger Hotel in Anaheim. He was most recently vice president and general manager of the Fairways & Bluewater Resort, Golf & Country Club in the Philippines.

Mark Budensiek has joined Rutan & Tucker LLP in Costa Mesa as an associate in the employment-law department. He previously served in the Navy JAG Corps and was associated with Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP in Los Angeles.

Edward B. Merino has joined the board of directors of ObjectShare Inc. in Irvine. He succeeds Lester Hill, who did not stand for reelection. Merino is managing director and founder of Office of the Chairman, a provider of corporate governance services. He previously was the director of corporate governance at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Betty Camarillo has joined Del Taco Inc. in Laguna Hills as human resources director. She previously held human resources and training positions at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel, Unocal 76, Baskin-Robbins and Pepsico.

Amin I. Khalifa will become vice president, finance, chief financial officer and treasurer of Beckman Coulter Inc. on June 1. He succeeds Dennis K. Wilson, who is retiring. Khalifa joined the company from Monsanto Co., where he was chief financial officer for the agricultural sector. Before, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Aetna Health Plans and head of investor relations for Aetna Inc.
