Steven Truitt hit a grand slam in Texas A&M;’s eight-run third inning and the Aggies (50-15) went on to a 17-7 victory over Long Beach State (35-25) in the regional championship game at College Station, Texas.

Texas A&M;, which plays Clemson (41-25) in a super regional, added five runs in the fifth and two each in the seventh and eighth.

It was the Texas A&M;’s second victory of the day over Long Beach State. The Aggies’ Khalid Ballouli (7-2) pitched a complete game and shut out the 49ers over the final three innings of a 9-5 victory.

Other super regional matchups: Miami (44-13) and Wake Forest (47-14), Baylor (49-13) and Oklahoma State (44-18), Auburn (46-17) and Florida State (51-12) and Rice (56-12) and Southwestern Louisiana (41-22). Alabama (49-14) will play the winner of today’s East Carolina (46-14)-Louisiana State (40-22-1) regional final at Baton Rouge, La., for the right to advance.
