The City Council is expected to vote Tuesday on how to divide the last payments of the city’s bonus program--a plan that came under scrutiny two months ago when former City Manager Arthur C. Simonian was accused of giving himself and his top managers lavish bonuses without the council’s knowledge.

In his report to the council, interim City Manager Daniel Miller will recommend that the city proceed with this year’s bonus program instituted by Simonian, who served as Yorba Linda’s top administrator for 27 years.

Miller, hired to fill in for Simonian until a permanent replacement is found, said he has not been at the job long enough to evaluate the performance of each department head. He suggested the council distribute the $55,109 available equally among Yorba Linda’s six top managers.
