City Survey Due on Cable TV Service

Share

Residents and business owners in Moorpark are being encouraged to fill out a cable television survey being mailed by the city this week.

Survey results must be returned by Nov. 19 to be considered.

“What we’re asking people is what do they think of their current services, and what services would they like to see provided,” said John Nowak, assistant city manager.

The survey covers a range of questions on pricing, programming and other options.

High-speed cable Internet access, not presently available in Moorpark, could be negotiated if it is a priority for enough customers, Nowak said. Also of specific interest is whether large companies or groups of affiliated companies are interested in establishing in-house video networking systems.

The city’s two cable providers, TCI and Adelphia, are poised to merge next year, when their individual franchises expire.

Survey results will be considered when the city meets with the merged company to discuss renewing the franchise.
