LOS ALAMITOS
City Manager Robert Dominguez is expected to present a proposal at a public study session Monday in which the Los Alamitos and Cypress police departments would consolidate services.
Members of the City Council will decide whether the proposed merger would be beneficial to residents of both cities that are adjacent to each other and share similar demographics.
Concerns regarding loss of community identity, whether there will be a substantial reduction in costs, how the patrol cars would be marked, and the need for response times to either remain the same or better will be some of the items addressed, Dominguez said.
The study session will begin at 5 p.m. in council chambers, 3191 Katella Ave.
