Traffic Congestion

Share

“Telecom Invasion Rattles Downtown L.A. Boosters” (Nov. 2) reports on the desire of Mayor Richard Riordan and others to bring more people downtown. Recently, it took the bus I was on 10 minutes to go a quarter-mile during the morning rush. This is an ongoing problem. Buses are becoming useless to passengers because of the delay. And as people opt for their cars, traffic congestion increases, making public transit more useless for many people.

And there are those who want more people downtown? Only if every additional person rides the bus, light rail or subway! Even better: Turn downtown into a transit-only zone, with all cars, except emergency vehicles and cargo vehicles, to park outside the downtown perimeter.
