USC (3-5, 1-4) vs. Arizona State (4-4, 3-2)

Share

* Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Coliseum, Fox Sports West.

* Story line: When will USC finally stop the bleeding? The Trojans’ four-game losing streak is their longest during a season since 1991, when they lost their final six on the way to a 3-8 record.

* USC update: Coach Paul Hackett, looking for any sort of spark, is poised to make a quarterback change, going with John Fox instead of Mike Van Raaphorst. Hackett was delaying an announcement, however, so he could gauge Fox’s skills in practice and try to keep Arizona State guessing as well. With Van Raaphorst at quarterback, the Trojans have outgained their last three opponents in total yardage, yet still lost--partly because of turnovers in crucial situations.

* Arizona State update: The Sun Devils have tailback J.R. Redmond back after the bizarre episode that caused him to miss last week’s loss at Oregon because of an NCAA suspension related to gifts he accepted from a female student and part-time athletic department employee--a woman he later married under the belief it was the only way to avoid NCAA penalties. The Sun Devils had an impressive victory at Washington this season, but were blown out by Notre Dame, 48-17, a team USC lost to, 25-24.
