Faced with the uncertainty of a new administration and personal contracts that expired Sunday, Angel coaches Rod Carew, Larry Bowa and Dick Pole interviewed Friday for major league vacancies with the Seattle Mariners.
Carew has been the hitting instructor since shortly after the 1991 season; Bowa is third base coach and Pole pitching coach.
Angel General Manager Bill Stoneman has said that he would prefer not to lose members of the coaching staff, but that he thought it unfair to re-sign them until a manager is in place.
Also, Mike Scioscia, who re-signed as manager of triple-A Albuquerque, the top Dodger farm club, in September, will interview with the Angels for their managerial vacancy, according to a baseball official.
He also has been approached by the New York Mets, among other organizations, about a minor-league position, the official said.
Chris Chambliss, among the candidates to manage the Angels, is scheduled to interview with Stoneman on Friday in Montreal.
