Warner Bros. Names New TV Executive VP

Bruce Rosenblum has been named executive vice president of television at Warner Bros. He assumes the position vacated by Barry Meyer, who recently took over as chairman and chief executive of the studio, which is owned by Time Warner Inc.

Rosenblum, a lawyer by training and a senior vice president of television business management at Warner Bros. since 1994, will oversee all TV operations, including production, syndication, foreign and the studio’s controlling interest in the WB network.

As they have in the past, the heads of those divisions will continue to report to the chairman of Warner Bros.--with Rosenblum serving as a conduit.

At Warner Bros., Rosenblum has played a key role in the formation of the WB, the acquisition of Pokemon for the network, for deals involving writers and actors, and for license fee negotiations for all series, including such hits as “ER,” “Friends,” and “The Drew Carey Show.”

He joined Warner Bros. in 1989 as part of the acquisition of Lorimar Telepictures, where he was vice president of business affairs. He previously practiced as an entertainment lawyer.
