LAGUNA BEACH
A public hearing on the proposed Treasure Island development project is scheduled for 6 tonight at City Hall, 505 Forest Ave.
The public will have the opportunity to discuss the parking analysis, park areas and the resort and bungalows associated with the resort community to be built at 30801 Coast Highway in South Laguna.
Athens Development Resort Co. plans to develop a destination resort community on the 30-acre plot of beachfront property.
The resort would include a hotel and detached bungalows providing 275 accommodations, underground parking, restaurants, bars, conference facilities and a health spa.
The project also includes 14 condominiums, 17 single-family homes, a private beach, a bluff-top park and improved access to shopping at the Aliso Creek Plaza.
Developers plan to unveil a scale model of the project for the board, the commission and the public to review.
The public hearings are part of a joint meeting with the planning commission and the design and review board.
