PLACENTIA
The Placentia Planning Commission approved plans Tuesday for 214 houses to be built near the Alta Vista Golf Course on 33 acres of former oil land and citrus groves.
The oil wells have been removed and the soil has been cleaned, according to county Health Care Agency documents. City studies concluded that construction would not cause any environmental problems.
The 214 houses are split into two development areas, with 44 homes in one and 170 in the other. Construction is underway on another project adjacent to the property.
