Orange County-based restaurant chain Mimi’s Cafe is holding its sixth annual “Write Stuff” essay writing contest. This year’s theme is “My Thanksgiving Wish.” All elementary school-age children are invited to submit an essay of no more than one page in length. Only one submission per student will be accepted. There are three categories: first- and second-graders, third- and fourth-graders and fifth- and sixth-graders. The winners will receive a $1,000 Savings Bond and the two runners-up will receive awards of $250. The 15 finalists will read their essays at a luncheon at Mimi’s Cafe in Costa Mesa, 1835 Newport Blvd. Essays must be submitted by Wednesday. Information: (562) 491-1000.
