Developers of the Treasure Island Resort unveiled a detailed three-dimensional model of the project at Wednesday’s joint meeting of the Planning Commission and the Design and Review Board.

The public was able to peruse the site sketches, landscape architecture plans and the model before the formal presentation and public hearing.

Developer Kim Richards said there are three things driving the design of the project: the ocean, the environment and the culture of Laguna Beach.

The site will include public access and handicap accessibility to the beach, a restaurant, several gardens, two public parks and a sculpted walk through a view corridor winding toward the ocean.

But several members of the joint commission said the site still felt overbearing and massive.
