In between film and TV gigs, LL Cool J has been busy in a New York studio working on his next album, now scheduled for a March release. He’s also featured on a new remix of Montell Jordan’s “Get It On Tonight.” . . .

The Beastie Boys and Moby are trading remixes, with the rap trio set to mess around with a track (still undetermined) from Moby’s acclaimed “Play” album and the techno philosopher reworking the Beasties’ new single, “Alive.” Moby says the trade is straight-up with no cash changing hands and no DJ to be named later. . . .

Luscious Jackson has put together a new version of “Let It Snow,” the song the group did for a Gap ad last year, to send out as a Christmas radio single. The track probably will be on a sampler album for retail promotions. . . .

The debut album by Presence, a duo featuring Shara Nelson (the featured vocalist on Massive Attack’s influential “Blue Lines” album), is set for U.S. release in January from Ark 21 Records. Its release in the U.K. this year earned a four-star review from Q magazine.
