To get a fresh perspective on the city’s impending build-out, the City Council will seek an outside consultant to review the city’s General Plan.

Rather than using Hogle-Ireland Inc., which is under contract to provide personnel for the city’s Planning Department, the city will seek bids for a project that calls for a comprehensive review of the city’s blueprint for development.

“It seems to me that one of the benefits of bidding this out is getting new ideas about how to go about the General Plan,” Councilman Wayne Rayfield said. “If we wanted to do a careful look, it’s probably better to get a group that will take a fresh look at this.”
