SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Investigators are seeking a man who robbed four south Orange County banks in the past two weeks, authorities said Monday.

The man used the same method to rob the banks, using a note to demand money from the teller in each incident, said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The man robbed the Union Bank on Camino Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano on Nov. 1. Three days later, he struck another Union Bank, on Paseo de Valencia in Laguna Hills. On Nov. 4, he robbed a Southern California Bank in Lake Forest, and on Friday, he held up a California Federal Bank on Calle de Louisa in Laguna Hills, Amormino said.

The robber is described as 40 years old, 5 feet 6 and weighing between 200 and 230 pounds. He has black curly hair with a receding hairline, a mustache and possibly a goatee.

He drove a late-model light blue Toyota Camry.

The FBI is involved in the case and is asking anyone with information to call Investigator Johnny Ortega at (714) 542-8825.
