CSUN to Host Economic Meeting
In a bid to spur economic development and improve retail districts, the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley will co-sponsor the first Valleywide conference on business improvement districts today.
Representatives from the Valley’s 10 business improvement districts, as well as members of the Los Angeles City Council and business district experts will discuss the benefits, creation and management of successful business improvement districts (BIDs).
Scheduled speakers include Bruce Ackerman, who was instrumental in crafting the redevelopment plan for Old Pasadena; Kerry Morrison, executive director of the Hollywood Entertainment District BID; and Ken Bernstein of the Los Angeles Conservancy.
Registration at the University Student Union Complex on the campus of Cal State Northridge, begins at 8 a.m. Programs begin at 9 a.m.
