Park improvements originally scheduled for completion in October won’t be done until next month, Director of Public Works Bob Woodings said.
The City Council ordered improvements to 16 of the city’s 17 parks in June. Play equipment, picnic benches, sun shelters and city identification signs will be added to some parks. The improvements also include access ramps for the disabled, walkways and parking at certain parks.
Some projects are almost finished, Woodings said. Delays are due to equipment arriving later than expected, he said.
The council voted to spend about $730,000 on the improvements this year.
