The City Council decided this week to reject the $1.4-billion light-rail project. City officials say the rail project would result in clogged traffic, the loss of street-side parking, and would require the acquisition of up to 150 homes and businesses. The Orange County Transportation Authority will decide next month whether or not to go ahead with a $30-million design project. The 27-mile rail line would run from Fullerton to Irvine.
