Seal Beach Man Pedals to Off-Road Win
Emilio Cervantes of Seal Beach was the first finisher at the Fall Fat Tire Toad Festival mountain bike event Saturday in the Santa Ana Mountains.
All but eight of the 96 who started the ride finished the technical, 26-mile course that included 5,000 feet of climbing and four contests--helmet toss, a card game, horseshoes and darts--they had to complete before continuing.
Cervantes finished in 2 hours 50 minutes, one minute ahead of runner-up James Hahn of San Diego.
