Business Ownership
Service System Program
BOSS is an entrepreneurship training program offered by the Orange County Small Business Development Center (OCSBDC) to military, defense and aerospace personnel who have been laid off, or are soon to be laid off. The ten-week program provides technical assistance, business ownership skill training, marketing guidance and business plan creation.
Qualifications:

California Conservation Corps
The California Conservation Corps hires young men and women to work for a period of one year on a variety of environmental and community projects, and to respond to emergencies such as forest fires, floods and earthquakes. Corps members learn job skills and gain work experience. Both residential and nonresidential positions are available.

Private Industry Councils - Job Training Programs
The Job Training Partnership (JTPA) of 1982 provides federal funding for locally managed employment and training programs. Private Industry Councils (PICs) within 52 service areas in California plan job training and employment programs to meet the needs of their local labor market.
