In response to the nagging note regarding the use of microwaves over “old-fashioned recipes,” I have only praise for The Times in explaining, in detail, methods for preparing classic recipes. Thank you, L.A. Times. I’ve been reading the food section for a very long while, and I credit you, my Mom and countless culinary perfectionists for my survival.
