Police Cameras
* Re “Smile for the Red Light,” Ventura County editorial, Oct. 24.
I very much object to photographic traffic tickets for Thousand Oaks or anywhere else.
It is the very antithesis of the concept of community policing. There is no contact with a human being. Instead, you receive a ticket in the mail with photos of you, your car and your license plate taken at the site of the alleged infraction. Big Brother in the extreme.
Soon I expect to receive a cassette of what I say or sing in the privacy (?) of my car.
