LAKE FOREST
The local chapter of a national Latino civil rights group has resolved to fight the proposed El Toro airport.
The Lake Forest League of United Latin American Citizens believes the former Marine base barracks should be converted into low-income housing, district deputy director Manny Marroquin said.
The El Toro Reuse Planning Authority’s non-aviation plan for the base includes affordable housing for low-income and senior residents, authority board member and Lake Forest Mayor Peter Herzog said.
