Guess’ Paul Marciano to Share Brother’s Chairman, CEO Duties

* Guess Inc., the Los Angeles-based jeans and apparel maker, has appointed company President Paul Marciano to the additional posts of co-chairman and co-chief executive. Paul Marciano will share the positions with his brother, current Chairman and CEO Maurice Marciano.

* Barbara Polsky has joined Los Angeles-based City National Bank as executive vice president and general counsel. She previously held the same positions at Aames Financial Corp. City National Bank, which is a subsidiary of Beverly Hills-based City National Corp., also said Dallas Haun a regional senior vice president overseeing the bank’s Orange County and Long Beach/South Bay regions, will now oversee the San Diego commercial banking region as well.

* Entropin Inc., an Indio-based pharmaceutical research and development firm, has appointed Thomas Tachovsky as president, chief executive and director. Tachovsky will replace Daniel Azarnoff as president and Donald Hunter as CEO. Azarnoff will continue as a director and Hunter will become board vice chairman and treasurer. Entropin is seeking patents on its first product, a topical solution for the treatment of impaired range of motion.

* Tom Ruzicka has been promoted from vice president to senior vice president of production at Universal Cartoon Studios, a division of Universal Studios’ Family & Home Entertainment Production unit. Ruzicka will be responsible for supervising all animation productions for television and direct-to-video. He also will play a key role in the development of new media opportunities.
