Let the holiday shopping begin. San Buenaventura Heritage will host its annual Victorian Holiday Boutique beginning Friday at the historic Dudley House in Ventura. The event will feature handcrafted holiday gifts, decorations and collectibles fashioned by more than 25 area artisans. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of the Dudley House.

Decorative Arts

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library will open “The Spirit of Tiffany” Saturday, a wide array of decorative Tiffany works gathered from private collections and museums nationwide. Charles Lewis Tiffany, a jeweler and silversmith, opened his establishment in New York City in 1837 and soon became America’s foremost retailer of luxury items. The exhibit includes lamps, fine jewelry, desk sets, furniture and tea services, plus gifts made for and given by the Reagans.

Also showing is “Christmas Around the World,” more than 25 trees decorated to represent various cultures and traditions. Through Jan. 2.

Film

The Ojai Film Society will screen “The Buena Vista Social Club” Sunday at the Ojai Playhouse. The critically acclaimed documentary was the outgrowth of a 1997 CD of the same name produced by musician-musicologist Ry Cooder. The album and film celebrate Cuba’s traditional music and musicians. The film is rated G.

Cowpoke

Popular western music songster Michael Martin Murphey will sing about the cowboy life Wednesday at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. His annual Cowboy Christmas Concert will include carols, cowboy poetry and more.
