The Miami Fusion acquired Roy Lassiter, Major League Soccer’s all-time leading scorer, on Friday, completing a four-player deal with D.C. United.

Lassiter has scored 73 goals and recorded 25 assists in his four-year MLS career with Tampa Bay and D.C. United.

“With Roy joining Diego Serna, Eric Wynalda and Welton up front, we should have one of the most dangerous attacks in the league,” Fusion Coach Ivo Wortmann said. “We are expecting him to provide a lot of scoring.”

Lassiter, a three-time MLS all-star, tied for the league lead in goals with 18 this season. He had three goals and an assist in helping D.C. United win its third MLS title in four years.

The acquisition of Lassiter completed a deal made in July in which the Fusion received defender Brian Kamler and a first-round pick in the 2000 college draft for forward Chris Albright and midfielder John Maessner.
