* Key matchups: The Lightning needs more scoring help than it has been getting from center Mike Sillinger, but Vincent Lecavalier and Chris Gratton have been playing well.
* Season series: The Kings got three man-advantage goals from Luc Robitaille--his 14th NHL hat trick--and won, 5-2, on Oct. 7.
* About Tampa Bay: The defense is inexperienced, and that has put added pressure on the Lightning goalies. The injury to Stephane Richer drained away from the team’s scoring strength recently, and Tampa Bay has been weak on the power play. Reid Simpson, acquired from Chicago Nov. 12, has stepped into the enforcer role, and Petr Svoboda has strengthened the defense since he was acquired from Philadelphia.
