Miami Dolphin player Dimitrius Underwood on Thursday left a hospital where he was being treated for self-inflicted knife wounds and entered a mental health facility at Lansing, Mich.

Underwood is receiving psychological treatment at a medical facility, his agent, Craig Domann, said.

He didn’t say where Underwood was being treated. Underwood’s mother, Eileen Underwood, didn’t return several messages left at her Philadelphia home.

Underwood had been undergoing treatment at Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital since slashing his neck with a knife on Sunday. The hospital said he had been released but declined further comment.

A police report released Thursday said Underwood chanted “I’m not worthy of God” before he used two steak knives to cut his throat at the Lansing home of his girlfriend and their twin toddlers.

The Philadelphia Eagles might have defensive end Hugh Douglas when they play Sunday against the New York Giants.

Douglas suffered a sprained ligament in his left knee in Week 2 and was expected to miss four to six weeks, but he has astounded his team by returning to practice. Douglas worked out in full pads on Thursday and his status is now “day to day.”
