Big Crowd Expected for Project Decision
To accommodate a larger crowd, Monday’s City Council meeting has been moved from the council chambers to the gym at nearby Recreation Park.
The City Council had been scheduled to pick between two developers to revitalize downtown with projects calling for such additions as restaurants and retail outlets. But one developer, Victor Georgino, withdrew his proposal Wednesday.
That left the proposal of San Fernando developer Pueblo Contracting Services on the table.
The council Monday could vote to enter into an exclusive agreement with Pueblo Contracting Services or decide to wait and accept proposals from other developers.
A public hearing on the issue last month drew nearly 400 people, and city officials predict Monday’s meeting will attract a crowd too large for the council chambers.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the gym, 208 Park Ave.
